TEDDY
Date of birth: 20/01/14
Date of rescue: February 2021
Gender: Male
UPDATE: Teddy is recovering really well and is so much happier than when he first arrived to GDS. Affectionate with women, Teddy walks great on a lead and loves adventures but is scared of men. He is leishmania positive but it’s under control. He can be quite reactive with other dogs so best suited as an only dog.
We will never know how or why Teddy and his two companions, Freddy and Lobita, were found in such lamentable condition. We don’t know if they were escapees or abandoned but what we can say is that the condition we found them in was shocking. Clearly they had been living on their own for quite awhile and are survivors of cruelty, whether intentional or indirect.
Teddy was found in a trash pile unable to see and extremely sick. His eyes were crusted over with infection, his skin inflamed and his testicles terribly swollen. He had the posture of a dog resigned to his miserable existence. Now at GDS, he is under treatment and we are awaiting test results. Although very scared and unsure, Teddy finally is getting a warm bed, attention from caring people and food not scavenged from the trash. We will give him all the time he needs to take a deep breath and relax. Please contact us for more information.
