JOSH

Date of birth: 03/02/14
Gender: Male

Josh has been waiting for his forever home since 2016.

Josh is a real cuddle bug just waiting to come out of his shell. When he arrived at Galgos del Sol more than three years ago he kept his distance from people, clearly abused and mistreated. Today he is a happy fun loving boy. He wags his tail and is super excited to see his people when they come home or walk into the room. He has yet to get comfortable with being touched or fully leashed, but he has proven he can bond with people and his trust is slowly growing.

He manages with keeping a collar on and has adjusted to that but still has some steps to go before he fully steps into his true self.

Josh can cope with having a man in the house with him but wouldn’t be recommended to live alone with a man as he still finds men to be the scarier breed of humans.

Josh will do best in a home with other stable and calm dogs as he looks to his canine companions for a lot of guidance and security when he feels unsure about situations. Sometimes his insecurities come out even with simple things like people standing up and walking across the room, though this continues to improve.

A loving calm home, with low energy and lots of routine and predictably will best suit him. People who will accept that he has been traumatised and needs time and love from a distance so he can come out of his shell are the best match for this sweet boy.

A home with a very secure garden is a must, as he cannot go out on a leash and doesn’t like to do his business with people watching. He needs a safe place to do his business and play.

Currently Josh is in a foster home in the Netherlands and can only be transported by road, but could reach most destinations in Europe.

It’s amazing to see the progress he’s made while living in a home environment and we’d like to get him to his forever home to bond with his forever family for the last little steps. On going behaviour therapy and support will be provided to help guide the journey, so you won’t be all alone in it.

Yes, I am interesting in sponsoring or adopting Josh!
