UPDATE: It’s Daisy’s turn to find a home. As shown in the video she’s a hesitant girl and definitely a flight risk. In one of the first scenes she heard a man’s voice and jumped right back. We left that in video to show how quickly it can happen. A 3-point harness is required whilst walking on the streets until she’s grown much more in confidence. Daisy isn’t scared of people but just always anticipating things to go wrong. She had lived on the streets for so long protecting her puppies whilst poorly herself so you can imagine it takes time to learn to trust. What a long way she has come, we would love to see her leave soon. Other dogs in a quiet home with a gentle routine would be ideal for Daisy.
We have no idea if Daisy is more podenco or more galgo but we know that she is stunning! We also know that she is a wonderful mum and squirreled her pups away in a cement tube to keep them safe. It was a harrowing rescue however as she kept pushing them further and further away. It took several tries to extricate the litter. A day later Daisy and one last remaining puppy were finally caught. With an enlarged uterus and high temperature, Daisy immediately went off for surgery. Surgery was successful and she is doing nicely with with her nine pups but very shy with us. What a lot this poor girl has endured. More information to come.
Yes, I want to sponsor or adopt Daisy!
