The GDS Retirement home is an offsite facility for our lifers (those with progressive diseases), the elderly as well as dogs that have become stressed in the kennels and need a break. It is important to us that our elderly dogs who may not get adopted have a chance at life in a home. They’ve been brood mamas and hunters for the majority of their lives until given up to GDS or abandoned.
The facility is a lovely finca with loads of room, couches, toys and fenced outdoor areas. A full-time GDS employee lives with them so the dogs are ensured of plenty of cuddles and playtime. In addition, for those that enjoy variation in their daily routine, walks on lead are provided. All these dogs are in need of sponsorships for their medical care and favorite treats of course!
