ASHLEY
Date of birth: TBD
Date of rescue: October 2021
Gender: Male
UPDATE: The trauma surgeons have looked closely at the leg x-rays and with all taken into account. Sadly Ashley is not a candidate for a prosthetic so will require an amputation. He’s a happy boy and we know he will move on quickly. His leg won’t be amputated until his bloods are more stable. Ashley will be looking for a home soon.
This poor podenco was seen running the streets for over a month with half his leg ripped off which looks to have been caused by a snare trap. It that wasn’t bad enough, Ashley also has a huge head injury caused by someone hitting him with a tool. The pain this boy endured is unimaginable and how many people saw him without doing anything to help? Two friends of GDS drove hours to collect him and get him to our vets ASAP. Fortunately the neurologist has confirmed that there is no brain damage and we are looking into a prosthetic limb to see if it might be suitable. Despite it all, Ashely didn’t hold back tag wags during his vet exam. He is an amazing little guy. Please contact us for more information.
Yes, I want to sponsor or adopt Ashley!
