UPDATE: Once very scared, Ant is now learning to trust people. He has been learning to walk nicely on a leash (still a work in progress). Our volunteers have loved seeing him become more and more sure of himself on our visits to GDS. As Ant is very smart, we know he will make advancements quickly once in a home environment. Ant will only be placed in a home with another dog — he needs the confidence another dog will provide. An ideal home will have a fenced yard and an active family.  Ant will have his 1st Birthday onNovember 17. How amazing would it be for him to be able to celebrate in his forever home?

Ant and his friend Dec are two more pods thrown onto the streets and so badly covered in ticks that they were bleeding. Now with us at GDS and recovered from ticks, fleas and worms treatments, we begin on their emotional recovery. Both are terrified but feeling more comfortable daily.
